Jessica Fletcher, mystery writer from Cabot Cove, Maine, visits Boston to help Attorney Malcolm McLoon defend the wealthy Billy Brannigan who has been accused of killing his brother. The case becomes more serious when Brannigan's girlfriend is found dead. Jessica suspects a classic set-up. This seems even more possible when jurors, coincidently, are involved in deadly accidents. It's a race against time, as Jessica tries to find the real murderer before Brannigan is handed a guilty verdict and before the murderer catches up with Jessica.
