When Pinch Canyon is attacked by a flash fire, three teens and a child try to escape from the fire. Their escape is complicated by the stupidity and selfishness of each of the characters. Not as good as Flight #116 is Down, as the characters are not as likeable, and Cooney does not seem to like them, making this book a condemnation of parents who ignore their children in favor of money or their careers.
