A haunted expert sniper in a secret military outfit fights his feelings for the younger sister of his best friend. Nate Weller, an expert sniper in a secret military organization, is fighting the guilt and memories from a mission gone wrong. Nate's best friend was tortured and killed while Nate was set free, something that holds him back from what he wants most. Ever since Ali Morgan saw Nate Weller hanging out with her older brother, she could never forget his face. Now Ali's life is in danger, the information that her older brother wouldn't give up drives secret forces to stalk Ali. Not knowing where else to turn Ali seeks out Nate at his secret military base and they soon discover the danger they both are in. Ali continually fights to discover Nate's true feelings behind his stony façade, while Nate fights to save Ali's life. Through a series of close calls of attempts on Ali's life Nate and Ali begin to grow closer to admitting the feelings they have hidden for years. The story ends with the realization that a prominent senator, selling weapons to terrorists, ordered the capture and death of Ali's brother and subsequently the attacks on Ali to recover incriminating evidence. Once all is settled Ali and Nate admit to their feelings and find relief and solace from each of their ordeals in each other's love.
