In Jude Deveraux's second book in her Velvet series, "Highland Velvet", she takes us to the beautiful Highland moors, where Stephen Montgomery has been promised a Scottish bride. But Bronwyn MacCarran is no gentle bride, and even goes so far to attack him on their wedding night with a knife. No matter how patient he was with her, no matter how important she became to him, or how passionate they were together, she denied him her respect and her love. But circumstances through them together, and threatened to tear them apart forever.
