Kate's always felt like the poor relation. She is the poor relation; for all practical purposes adopted by the Templetons after her parents died in a car accident that Kate survived. And, being a year younger than her friends Margo and Laura didn't help. Kate began pushing to catch up at a young age, and she's never slowed down. Now she's a perfectionist who's developed an addiction to Rolaids just to get through the day. Then Byron DeWitt appears on the scene. He recognizes her problems and focuses on them. And, when some numbers turn up wrong at the accounting firm where Kate works Byron jumps in to help prove that she had nothing to do with it. Now, all he has to do is convince her to let him help with the rest of her life.
