Single, 34 year old mom Tracey Davenport is living a quiet existence in Texas with her seventeen year old daughter Lauren. Tracey, having given birth to Lauren at the age of seventeen, has been raising Lauren by herself with little or no help from her ex, Derrick. When Lauren starts dating college student Aaron Oliver, Tracey counsels her daughter against the dangers of premarital sex. Using her own experiences as a cautionary tale, Tracey warns her daughter about giving into pressure to be sexually active. Meanwhile, Tracey finds herself oddly attracted to Aaron, who is giving off signals that he is interested in his girlfriend's mother. Tracey is sent reeling when she is cruelly dumped for the beautiful Lani by her boyfriend Steve Monroe. Tracey is humiliated when Steve gives her a dressing down in front of Lani and berates her as a woman. Steve ends the relationship by kicking Tracey to the curb. With a wounded ego, Tracey finds herself spending more and more time with Aaron, who she finds both attractive and mature. Although no lines are crossed, both Tracey and Aaron feel the chemistry and attraction. Aaron is frustrated by Lauren's unwillingness to have sex with him and he finds himself yearning for a mature woman. When Aaron and Tracey cross the line and have sex, neither of them is willing to end the relationship. Lauren is devastated when Aaron dumps her out of the blue and tells her he needs some space. Although Lauren suspects that Aaron has another woman in his life, she is stunned when she catches her mother and Aaron in a compromising position in her mother's bedroom. Despite Lauren's hurt, Tracey is unwilling or unable to give up her younger man. As mother and daughter struggle to maintain their solid relationship, Tracey is forced to come to terms with her foul actions and make a major decision about her relationship with Aaron.
