The protagonist is kidnapped during a time period where pirates rules the high seas. After a year of working onboard as a teenage boy instead of the girl she is, she meets a new prisoner, a boy her age, that she becomes fond of. Both plot to escape. She becomes engaged to the boy once they find their families, but ponders whether she has grown too fond of the sea to return to a life of luxury. Good YA novel.
