Since You're Leaving Anyway Take Out The Trash Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Since You're Leaving Anyway Take Out The Trash

Divorcee Debbie Sue Overstreet is the proud owner of the Styling Station, a beauty parlor located in her hometown of Salt Lick, Texas. Despite the fact that she owns her own business, Debbie Sue constantly has money worries. It seems to Debbie Sue that her life has taken a downward spiral ever since her divorce from Buddy, the gorgeous sheriff of Salt Lick. Buddy and Debbie Sue were happily married until Buddy gave her an ultimatum about her beloved hobby of barrel racing. When Debbie Sue told Buddy that she had no intention of stopping barrel racing, Buddy divorced her. Although Debbie Sue is still secretly in love with Buddy, she has no intention of confessing her feelings to her ex husband. After all, Buddy has moved on to Kathy, a teacher from Odessa. When Debbie Sue hears that Pearl Ann Carruthers, her wealthiest client, has been found dead, presumably a suicide, Debbie Sue can't believe her ears. Wife of Harley Carruthers, the richest man in Salt Lick, Pearl Ann was known to sleep around all over Texas. It was common knowledge around town that Pearl Ann was threatening to divorce Harley and move to Fort Worth. Debbie Sue happens to know that Pearl Ann signed a prenup agreement that limited her monetary settlement in the event of a divorce. Pearl Ann confessed to Debbie Sue that she had been stashing money away as part of a "getaway fund." On sheer instinct Debbie Sue decides that Pearl Ann's death wasn't a suicide. Debbie Sue approaches Buddy and tells him that Pearl Ann wouldn't have blown her head off when she spent the previous day getting the works at her beauty salon. Buddy pooh poohs her theory and tells her to leave the sleuthing to the professionals. After consulting a forensic specialist, it is determined that Pearl Ann was indeed murdered. When Debbie Sue hears that Harley is offering a $50,000 reward for the identity of Pearl Ann's murderer, Debbie Sue decides to team up with her best friend, Edwina, to solve the case. As Debbie Sue tracks down her leads she is constantly thrown into the path of Buddy, who seems to be flirting with her at every turn. Although Debbie Sue is wary of getting her heart broken again she's determined to find out if she has a future with Buddy.
