Stamping Grounds Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Stamping Grounds

By following their soccer team's quest to qualify for the World Cup, Charlie Connelly attempts to gain a handle on Liechenstein, Europe's smallest country. He learns that although the country was mainly a creation of one man (a Swiss Prince whose name the country took) the people are very proud of their tiny nation. He meets a man married to an eagle, the current prince of the nation and the winemaker who also plays for the national soccer team.

Despite not knowing anything about the country when he first started, the warmth of the people and the bravery of the soccer team in matches against nations a hundred times as big leaves Connelly feeling like an honourary Liechensteiner by the end.
