The Devil's Madness Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Devil's Madness

This is the story of five childhood friends growing up in Australia during the 1960's. The book focuses primarily on two themes. When one of the five friends dies, the other four boys must deal with the guilt they played in his death and try to move forward with their young lives. The second main theme concerns war, especially Australia's role in the Vietnam War, which pulls the remaining four friends apart. One friend is a soldier; the other is a conscientious objector.
