This is a terrific how-to book for anyone who has ever read a children's chapter or picture book and thought, "Hey, I could write like that!" It offers practical step-by-step advice designed to guide would-be children's authors from start to finish of the publication process. This book claims anticipates problems and offers solutions to most of the issues that novice writers might face as they work through writing and publication- setting up a work space, researching the world of children's books, brainstorming, editing, finding a publisher, submitting a manuscript, the role of the illustrator, book production and marketing, and grants and awards. But, because it was created for "regular people," it is easy to read and filled with understandable ideas and practical tips.
