The Notebook takes place in New Bern, North Carolina as do all of Nicholas Spark's books. The story starts out with Noah and Allie as teenagers when they spend the summer together and fall inlove. Their love is forbidden by Allies parents and after the summer they do not see each other for 14 years. During this time, Noah sent Allie letters, one every day for a whole year, before he gave up. After Allie is engaged, and she sees Noahs's picture in a newspaper she goes to visit him. Once they spent time together they fall in love all over again and Allie breaks off the engagment with her husband and they spend the rest of their lives together. The stories comes to an end with Noah and Allie in a home. Allie has alzheimers and she doesn't remember Noah anymore. However, earlier she told Noah to write their love story in a book and read it to her where she would remember and come back to him.

Noah fell in love at an early age and wanted to be with this girl for the rest of his life. When they returned to different schools he wrote but she did not return the letters. He searched for her and did not find her. He returned home after the death of his father to purchase the home he always admired as a young man. Living with only memories of Allie he throws himself into remodeling this home. What started out to be a peace normal day was interrupted when Allie shows up out of the blue. She tells him she is engaged. But they both still feel a stronge connection.

This book is a real tear-jerker! How strong is their love that can survive one of them not having any memory of the other? Every day he goes to see his wife and read to her hoping that she will recall the words. Never does he say who he is. He wants her to remember on her own, and hear those precious words that he misses so much. "I Love You". He never pushes too hard. Their love is one to be admired, even though it is fictional. One could only hope to live as long as these two, and have the passion and love that they felt from the beginning. I was praying through the whole book that she would remember...I absolutely loved this book.

The Notebook is a true love story about two people who discovered love at a young age, and held onto it throughout their days until an illness takes over. When Noah tells his story about his wife slowly becoming ill, you feel how hard it was for him, and for her. The Notebook is an eye opening experience of what true love should be between a husband and a wife, "for better or worse, or until death does us part" Read this book, and other Nicholas Sparks books, he is an amazing story teller.

This book is one of Nicholas Sparks' best. It is a true romance story. The book put a smile on my face that was pure happiness. I read it over and over again and I still get the same reaction like it was the first time I read it. Everyone should read it.

Nicholas Sparks does a wonderful job of showing us that love can endure all. Noah and Allie have loved each other since they were teenagers, through all the trails and tributlations in their lives they are once again able to find each other. Their love for one another defies the test of time.

This has been one of the most romantic stories that I have read! It has a special love and relationship that not many people find these days! It inspired me to know what true love feels like! I love this book and I definitely recommend it to others! I love how it began and then went into Noah and Allies finding each other again, and then how it drifted back to the present! The ending it the most wonderful part! The nurse is a very loving women! Great action that she took to let Noah slip in once more to his beloved wife while she went to get coffee, when she already had a hot cup right in front of her! Wonderful ending! I can't wait to read more and more of your books! Thank you for such a wonderful and inspiring story!

The most beautiful description of boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy finds girl, then loses her again. It's how every person wants to be loved one day.
The review of this Book prepared by Nickie

The best of the 3 Sparks has written. This is a true love story through and through. Noah has loved Allie since he was a teenager. This is a story of the heartbreaks that tear them apart and may keep them together. If you read anything by Nicholas Sparks, this is the one. It will pull you in and show you the true meaning of love. It made me laugh and cry. (Have tissues ready for this one!) Sparks has the amazing ability to write and this book can be enjoyed by anyone. If there is someone who you truely love, read this book, then share it with him/her.
