The female protagonist agrees to become the male protagonist's mistress as payment for the sorrow her brother has caused his sister, who now because of it is paralysed and has lost her reputation. The male protagonist is however very gentle and kind towards the female and lets her decide the time and place for the actual consumation of their deal. Since she loses her reputation by living with him - although they pretend that she is only there to help his sister - she decides to become a paramoure. Who can better teach her what she needs to know than he who has a reputation for debauchery!
