Ryan Swan takes over a project for her father. She needs to get Pierce Atkins, a famous magician, to sign on to do a TV special. He agrees, but only if she is in charge. They fall in love and have a passionate affair while she earns her father's respect in the TV industry.

The only real problem is that Pierce wants to do a death defying escape to prove something to himself. Ryan does her best to convience him that if he loves her, he won't risk his life for a three minute escape, but he refuses to listen to her. Will he survive, and if he does, will he be able to win Ryan back after the hurt he caused her?
