Thorn's Challenge Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Thorn's Challenge

Thorn Westmoreland, of Atlanta's large Westmoreland clan, is a famous champion motorcycle racer. Thorn, known within family circles as a doubting Thomas of a man, has been jaded by love in the past and is not interested in love. When Thorn crosses paths with his sister Delaney's best friend, Dr. Tara Matthews, there is an immediate friction and chemistry between them. Although Tara has always thought that Thorn disliked her, the reality is that Thorn cannot get the beutiful doctor out of his mind. Although the two shared a random kiss at a Westmoreland family wedding, Thorn and Tara have barely spent any time together at all. Tara is mistrustful of men due to her fiance's jilting her at the church altar for her best friend and the sexual harrassment she suffered from a married doctor in Florida. When a rich benefactor at the hospital where Tara works asks her to approach Thorn about being in a charity calendar, she is reluctant to approach the prickly athlete. When Tara mentions the charity event, Thorn makes a proposal of his own. He will pose for the charity calendar on one condition. In five weeks time, after he races at Daytona's bike week, Thorn proposes that Tara engage in a one week affair with him so that he can get her out of his system. Tara is shocked by Thorn's proposal and also shocked when he tells her that he hasn't had sex in two years and that he never indulges in sexual relations prior to a race. Against her better judgment, Tara is tempted by Thorn's proposal. Tara finds herself dangerously attracted to the handsome athlete, despite the fact that she is a virgin and has sworn off men. As Thorn begins to wage a war of seduction, using any means necessary, Tara decides to turn the tables on him and show him new rules of the game.
