Washington is on alert by this movie too. Robert Madigan is running for Presidency - the son of assassinated Tom Madigan who was having an affair with Elizabeth Eden! The novel almost becomes a "Who Did It" as the story unfolds, Elizabeth Eden had an affiliation with several people & all stops are pulled out to ensure the movie does not go ahead - even murder.
