Bobbie posts on 4/30/2009 12:26:53 AM Face of Betrayal: An awesome book that kept me glued. I would have preferred a little more details towards the end of the book but there was enough to keep me wanting to find out the end. The obvious victim in this book is a seventeen-year-old girl who was recently entered in the Senate page program and seemingly has her future well in hand. But, while home on Christmas break, she takes the family dog out for a walk and never returns. What follows is a media onslaught brought on by reporter Cassidy Shaw, the first to break the story. Very rapidly Federal Prosecutor Allison Pierce and FBI Special Agent Nicole Hedges are brought into the hunt on much more than a professional level. All three women although very unique in personality are life-long friends and find the case of this missing girl affecting them personally. Although the end did not come as a complete surprise it did leave me hanging a bit. I thought the story was “wound up” a little quickly and neatly, almost rushed. It just came across as a little too convenient. I would definitely recommend this book to someone looking for a good, fast read. The story followed a good time line and kept my attention rapt throughout. There were several unpredictable surprises and page turners. If the next book is written in the same style with the same finesse it promises to be another great one.
