After 5 years of imprisonment in the U.S. for drug dealing, Bruno comes back to Paris. He lives with his father René for a while, but René blames Bruno for the death of his wife. Finally, after a violent discussion, Bruno leaves his father's apartment. He makes the acquaintance of Catherine, who works with him in Dufilho's library, and is attracted by the young woman. Unfortunately Catherine, a former drug addict, is not entirely liberated from her bad habit.
