This was music video director Hype Williams' foray into films in the director's seat. Belly is the tale of two lifelong friends Tommy "Buns" Bundy (DMX) and Sincere (Nas) who make a living via the life of crime. When Tommy comes across new venture - a distinct form of heroin - Sincere is reluctant to get involved as he wants to leave that life behind, but he eventually goes along.

While they embark on expanding their criminal enterprise, problems arise between the crew such as luck of trust, and how much money each participant should be receiving. With all this occurring Sincere wants to pack up and move to Africa with his girlfriend and his child, thus leaving his lifelong friend. This causes a rift in the friendship between the two as well as the other crew members who see Sincere as being disloyal. Also the ongoing issues with the drug scheme provides problems Buns which he has to facilitate.
Best part of story, including ending:
It was over exaggerated, too much action too quickly. Not enough of a build up too illustrate time passing.
Best scene in story:
When Sincere is sitting on the bench talking to the kid. The scene was taken from Nas' song "One Love".
Opinion about the main character:
Too wild. Quick to fight and shoot, even his own crew without thinking about the possible reperocussions.
