Actors: John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman, Malcolm McDowell

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Bolt

Bolt is a dog who thinks he's a superhero. Unbeknownst to him, Bolt and his owner Penny are actually stars of a hit TV show. One day, on the Hollywood set he thinks is real, he gets trapped in a box which is sent to New York.

There, he gradually realizes that the powers he relied on all his life are not real. He meets an alley cat named Mittens, who helps him deal with being an ordinary dog. The two begin a journey back to Hollywood. On their way they meet Rhino, a hamster who is crazy about TV and Bolt's show in particular. The three get caught by animal control, only for Rhino to become the unlikely savior. During the trip we learn more about the life of Mittens and Rhino.

The groups splits up in Las Vegas, with Bolt continuing his journey alone. When he finally gets to the set of the TV show, Bolt sees Penny affectionately hugging a Bolt stand-in. Unaware that this was only acting for the show, he is heartbroken. Meanwhile, Mittens and Rhino decide that Bolt needs their help. They reach Hollywood and Mittens sees Penny crying over her lost dog. She finds Bolt and tells him. At this point a fire breaks out on the set, trapping Penny. Bolt valiantly braves the fire and finds her. He barks as strongly as he can, and eventually is heard by the firemen.

Penny decides to leave the show, and together with Bolt, Mittens and Rhino they start a peaceful life outside the busy city.
Best part of story, including ending: The story sends the message that you don't need superpowers to be a hero, and has enough silliness to keep children entertained.

Best scene in story: I liked the scene at the beginning, set in the fictional world of Bolt's TV show. There's an exciting chase and the action is visually exciting.

Opinion about the main character: As far as animation goes, Bolt looks and moves great. During his journey he learns the joys and troubles of being a dog in the real world.
