Marie is the concubine of one of the members of Claude Dauphin's gang of thieves. She falls in love with Manda, a carpenter. Both will spend some idyllic days in the country while Claude Dauphin, also in love with the beautiful Marie, is imagining a cruel way to get rid of his rival Manda by denouncing to the police Manda's best friend.
