Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Deathstalker

The first of a 4-movie series, this is the only episode that does not use recycled footage from other movies. The plot involves a cynical mercenary finding a magic sword and fighting in a tournament, rescuing a princess and battling an evil wizard-king, dealing with double-crossers and fondling flesh. There is much swordplay, blood & gore, bare breasts, cheezy special effects, and bad acting. What distinguishes this film from others is the early-80's just-above-low-budget production values, that allow the sets to not look completely fake and for there to be plenty of blood and gore.
