But each one brings back something with them- the guilt and secrets that haunt them, some since childhood. Nelson's is the strongest and most disturbing- he played a role in the death of a boy; Rachel (Roberts) feels guilt over the suicide of her father, believing that there was something she could have done to prevent it; David (Bacon) feels guilt over the cruel teasing he dealt to a little black girl back in his school days and Joe (Baldwin) feels guilt that he cheats on his girlfriend and videotapes his sexual exploits with other women, without their knowledge or consent. Each med student must come to terms with their haunting memories in order to rid themselves of them.
