Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Friends With Money

All of Olivia's friends have found financial success and husbands. While her friends discuss which charities to support or start, Olivia's chief financial concern is how to stretch her meager income as a self-employed house cleaner with little scams for obtaining more than one free sample of new products she wants. Further, while her friends struggle with every day problems of marriage, Olivia struggles with finding a lasting romantic relationship.

Nothing seems to work for Olivia, either financially or emotionally. Her friend's attempts to help her find additional work and find a man fail and this puts a strain on their friendship. Her friends' increasing marital problems serve to focus them away from Olivia and her problems and this adds to the strain on the friendship whose main foundation was their college friendship which developed when there were fewer divisions between them.

The movie tends to drift along without an apparent plot and it is only the development of the characters that holds the viewer. However, just before the end Olivia's life takes strange twist after meeting a new man who, on the surface, appears to be drifting through life like Olivia an comes across as more of a loser, both professionally and emotionally, than Olivia. As the movie suddenly begins racing toward a conclusion, Olivia's life is quickly transformed by the new man in a way that surprises both Olivia and the audience. In the closing minutes of the movie everything is finally brought together in a way that leaves the viewer feeling rewarded for their effort in staying with the show from the beginning.
