The year is 2025 and we find the aged Conner Macloud drifting in and out of consciousness in an opera house. He's dreaming of his days on the planet Ziest were he is battling general Katana. It is revealed here that the mystical immortals of the first movie are in fact exiled aliens from another planet banished to earth as immortals who must battle for the right to return to Ziest.

The plot thickens when Conner is sought out by activist Louise Marcus who believes the ozone layer above the shield created by Conner and his friend Allen Neyman has restored itself. The shield, put in place to protect people from the sun is controled by a corpOration that is headed by David Blake who insists Marcus is a terrorist.
Katana sends two stupid goons to earth to kill Conner. After killing one goon Conner becomes young looking and immortal once again. After Conner and Louise get intimate against a nearby wall they are later joined by the dead and newly revived Ramirez who joins the fight to bring down the shield. After seeing the failure of the two idiotic goons, Katana comes to earth to do the job himself.
This orginal version of the movie clearly defies the events of the first installment and the subsequent versions minus the planet Ziest still does not give this movie a rightful place in the Highlander series. The first logical problem is that a person who belongs to a clan cannot be simply zapped into a clan. It is a birth right. How can a man named Macloud be placed into a clan of Maclouds. It is not logical and clearly shows that the makers of the movie have insulted the intelligence of Highlander fans. Secondly, Conner already said he was born in Scotland. This movie was obviously a lame attempt to make a quick buck on the success of the first movie.

It turns out that the sworighting immortals from the first "Highlander" are all from another planet, sent to earth as a form of punishment. It also seems that Our Hero, Connor Mac Leod, helped invent a "shield" to protect people from UV radition. Now a dictator has come to earth to kill MacLeod and take over the Shield Corpoation. Ramirez returns to help.
