Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil

This animation film is about well-known fairy tale characters in modern times. It is the second film in the series. The lead character is Red Riding Hood (with the voice of Hayden Panettiere). Red is away in the Tibetan mountains studying with the Sisters of the Hood, when Verushka the Witch (with the voice of Joan Cusack) captures Hansel (with the voice of Bill Hader) and Gretel (with the voice of Amy Poehler). The Witch prepares the children to eat them. The Happy Ending Agency (HEA) finds out about the plot to eat the children and launches an assault on the ginger bread house to free them. It is led by HEA Director – Nicky Flippers (with the voice of David Ogden Stiers) with his team that includes Granny (with the voice of Glenn Close), the Big Bad Wolf (with the voice of Patrick Warburton), and the Wolf's sidekick Twitchy (with the voice of Cory Edwards). Jumping the gun, the Wolf sends in Twitchy to attack from the roof while the Wolf knocks on the front door. The Witch escapes on her supersonic flying broom with both Hansel and Gretel in cages. Granny gives chase on her motorcycle with Wolf and Twitchy riding in the sidecar. Granny makes a huge motorcycle jump in the air, flies off the bike, catches on to the Witches' broom, then the Witch handcuffs her to the broom. The Witch gets away with all of them including Granny.

Red has just about finished her training with the Sisters of the Hood. They show her the vault containing the secret recipe for Truffles that when eaten make a person invincible. When they go to the vault, they find the recipe is missing. Red learns there is one secret ingredient that not listed on the recipe. This ingredient will be obvious to those sisters that deserve to know the secret. Only the truly worthy will be able to complete the recipe. Red gets a call telling her the Witch kidnapped Granny. Granny was one of the few that completed the Truffle recipe during her training with the Sisters of the Hood. This is why Witch took her, to force Granny to complete the recipe for her.

Red goes with Wolf and Twitchy on a rescue mission to save Granny. However, Wolf and Red do not get along. Red thinks Wolf allowed the kidnapping of Granny to occur. Wolf thinks the loss of Granny happened because Red was not there to help them. The Witch gets the mafia boss The Giant (with the voice of Brad Garrett) to find the rare ingredients needed to make the truffles by sending messages to him via the Crazy Rabbit (with the voice of Andy Dick). Red, Wolf, and Twitchy force the Rabbit to tell them where the ingredients are coming from. They go to the club of The Giant, steal his magical singing harp called Jimmie Ten-strings (with the voice of Wayne Newton) who gives them information about the hideout of the Witch. At the Witches' lair, Granny escapes. Granny tries to rescue Hansel and Gretel only to find out they are actually the evil masterminds behind the whole plot.

The Evil Witch is an old classmate of Granny's she recognizes as Verushka, from when they were in training with the Sisters of the Hood. Verushka was always number two unable to compete well enough with Granny. Verushka was not able to complete the truffles recipe and has been jealous of Granny ever since. Red finds Granny, but by accident also reveals the secret ingredient. Hansel and Gretel succeed in getting the truffles they want. They double cross the Witch, abandoning her as they turn into monster-sized versions of themselves. Verushka almost falls to her death but Granny saves her. Hansel and Gretel, as monsters, attack the city. Because of the betrayal by Hansel and Gretel, Verushka agrees to rejoin the Sisters of the Hood and with Granny to fight Hansel and Gretel. They fight the monster Hansel and Gretel making little headway until they encourage them to eat more truffles. This makes Hansel and Gretel so large they are unable to move and they are easily captured.
Best part of story, including ending: This is a fractured fairy tale which, is a fun concept.

Best scene in story: I like the comedic country-banjo playing goat that appears frequently and then gets smashed or falls down. When he suddenly sings opera to keep the giant Hansel and Gretel from stomping on him, it is hilarious.

Opinion about the main character: Red makes good decisions except when someone calls her a silly little girl.
