This is a film about two friends who have grown up together and are still looking for that special someone to give their life the fullness they deserve. Lucy (Parker) wants to open up an art school with Joe (Shaeffer). Lucy is haphazardly rejecting every date that comes her way and Joe pines away for the girl next door (McPhearson). The film tells about the weeks before their "Death Day Pact" goes into effect, a deal made in college in which they each promised they'd both commit suicide if they weren't in a meaningful relationship by the age of 35.
