In order to pass an interview for his first job, Domenico has to travel to Milan, Italy. With a dozen other candidates, he must pass medical, psychological and technical tests. He's finally hired as a clerk in this huge company that is surfing on the miraculous italian economical wave of the beginning of the sixties. As he has to wait for a work place, Domenico passes a lot of time observing his colleagues and falls in love with Antonietta, a young girl who's just been hired like him.
