Sandy (Collette) is a geologist, whose firm has written a software application they are trying to sell to a Japanese firm with mining interests in Australia. She is assigned to seal the deal in the outback, much to her chagrin. There, she meets Hiromitsu (Tsunashima), an uptight Japanese businessman, who seems to think she is his personal driver. He insists on being driven to several remote reaches of the outback. After their rental 4-wheeler gets perilously bogged down in thick dust and in the middle of nowhere, his reserve crumbles. The two begin to form a relationship, which seems to immediately blossom into an unexpected romance. But their happiness is fleeting.
