Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Life as a House

George Monroe, an architect who refuses to upgrade to using computers, has just been fired from the job he hates. He has been diagnosed with cancer, and wants to spend his final time building a house with his son who has grown to hate him. Problems with neighbors and relationship problems build as the summer progresses. George's son, Sam, who originally hated the idea of spending the summer with his father and not with friends and drugs, begins to love his father once again. Unfortunately George waits a little too long to tell those close to him about his illness. This is a very sad movie, but it's amazing. One of the best movies I've ever seen.
