Marie has got only one idea in mind: to find her father Jacques Desmoulins whom she believes to have abandoned her mother and to be the cause of her suicide. After months of investigations, she finally discovers that Jacques lives in a little town on the Atlantic ocean. Marie buys a gun, says goodbye to Solange and heads to the coast. There, she has the opportunity to kill her father but she decides at the last moment to spare him in order to make him suffer the way he made her mother suffer. She carefully observes Jacques and tries to seduce him but Jacques is a desperate and embittered man whose life was ruined by Elisa's death.
