Sylvester Stallone stars in this "behind-the bars" action drama as a prisoner who is tormented by a warden during the last few months of his sentence. Frank Leone (Stallone) is six months away from parole, when Warden Drumgoole (Sutherland) takes over the squalid Gateway Prison. With an old score to settle, he pulls out all stops to make sure that Leone doesn't go anywhere soon. As much as Leone tries to steer clear of any trouble, Drumgoole plays on his patience in every imaginable way, to try and incite him into indiscretion. Over a period of time, he uses a group of troublemaking inmates to beat him up, kill one of his friends and also harass his girlfriend. But Leone is determined on getting out at any cost.
