Out-of-work actor/director Joe Harper decides to stage a Christmas time production of the Bard's famous tragedy. This is quite an undertaking, as Joe is saddled with a miniscule budget, a ramshackle church for a theatre, and a cadre of untalented performers. To make matters worse, Joe's bitch of an agent (played by Joan Collins) warns her client that if the production doesn't succeed, he'll be ruined. Thus, Joe does his best to prep the actors, soothe their egos, resolve their personal problems, and capitalize on their love of theatre, so that his project can succeed.
