'Million Dollar Baby' stars Hilary Swank as Maggie Fitzgerald, a determined young woman whose dream is to become a boxer. Clint Eastwood is Frankie Dunn, a skeptical trainer who doesn't accept Maggie. Morgan Freeman's character Eddie "Scrap" Dupris becomes a friend with both stubborn characters. Essentially, 'Million Dollar Baby' is a love story about a surrogate father and his surrogate daughter. Both Maggie and Frankie have lost someone dear to their hearts, but both find comfort in each other through boxing.

Hillary Swank plays Maggie, an amateur female boxer. Clint Eastwood is Frank, her coach. Morgan Freeman is Scrap, Frankie's sidekick. Mix these personalities together and normally the movie would be a humdrum sporting event but Eastwood fixes that. Frank states that he doesn't train girlies and then he does. He wants to keep his distance from Maggie but finds her staunch ability to withstand any practice, exercise and indifference he can dish out with her focus intact, just the type of charm he knows.
