Bleek Gilliam as a young boy that was contanstly demanded to become a musician, not necessary on his own but from his mother. As years go by Gilliam is now a lead jazz trumpeter with also a rival Shadow in their own quintet band. Nothing evolves around his music since it is the only thing he commit to and care about. As the story goes he will learn there is more to life than music and himself. Things are not so smoothly for Bleek as he must face decisions with a love triangle among two women and problems involving his best friend and gambling manager Giant, which got into big trouble owing money to a bunch of thugs.
