Lombard and Montgomery have been married for four years when they learn that their marriage was, technically speaking, illegal. Lombard, upset that Montgomery didn't ask her to marry him again as soon as he was aware of the problem, chases him out of their apartment.

Montgomery will try by all possible means to convince Lombard that he's still crazy about her but the young woman's anger against him is so strong that she
flirts with Montgomery's partner in order to provoke him.
