This is the story of teenaged twin girls who don't appear to be very opposite. One likes school, the other plays in a band. They live in New York with their very rich father who is a doctor. Their mom has passed away.

The story takes place one day in which Jane, the smart sister, must make it to a speech presentation in downtown New York in order to be accepted to a school abroad. The second sister, Roxy, plans on skipping school to watch the making of a rock video, only she is being followed by the truant officer.
The girls set off together to catch the train, only to be kicked off midway, they end up taking a ride from a stranger only to get involved in a blackmarket music scheme.
The twins are chased around New York by the truant officer and the bad blackmarket guys, in a non-life threatening manner. They end up getting to change clothes several times and even get make-overs while they avoid being caught running through the streets.
They manage to solve the blackmarket scheme and mend their ways and become good friends again.
