Actors: Buster Keaton, T. Roy Barnes, Snitz Edwards, Ruth Dwyer

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Seven Chances (1925)

Financial broker Jimmy Shannon (Keaton) is on the verge of bankruptcy when his attorney shows up with his grandfather's will. It leaves him $7 million if Jimmy is married by 7 p.m. on his 27th birthday. He's saved . . . except today is his 27th birthday! Dour, mousy Jimmy has never declared his love to Mary Jones (Dwyer), and he flubs it up royal when he tries to do so on this fateful day. So he spends the rest of the day trying to figure out how to get hitched. But when word gets out of his situation, suddenly hundreds of potential brides are chasing him -- through traffic, across a football stadium, and over the hills, even in an avalanche. Though not as well known as his great classics, this late silent Keaton is marvelously funny. This story was remade in 1999 as the vastly inferior "The Bachelor" starring Chris O'Donnell.
