The Story of Us is a film about a marriage that has been thwarted with time and the minutiae of life. Ben and Katie Jordan have two beautiful children, a house, jobs, and plenty to deal with on a daily basis and the humdrum of everyday life has seriously degraded their marriage. The two separate after years of therapy and vacations and conversations about how to improve because they don't know how to fix their lives together. Katie meets a fellow parent and starts to consider a relationship with another man, while Ben stays in a motel and tries to figure out what he can do to win her back. The film is peppered with flashbacks of the good and the bad times in their relationship and comes to a cathartic conclusion that is meant to draw both laughter and tears.
