During a flashback to the original movie and it's climactic final scene, the offspring of the original creature somehow survive in a host canine before it goes into hibernation in an abandoned manufacturing plant. Many years later former LA detective Tom Beck (Weldon), now prematurely aged and hideously disfigured due to the parasitic creature residing in him, is still tracking the elusive aliens when he finds what he is looking for. Unfortunately he loses the showdown with his extraterrestrial adversary in the empty industrial building. At the morgue Beck's daughter Juliet (Hodge) has trouble identifying her unrecognizable dead father.

When a strange young man breaks into her home Juliet is convinced the guy is crazy and means to do her bodily harm until he reveals the alien life form controlling his deceased mortal body. She is enlisted to help alien bounty hunter MacLachlan (Sbarge) track down and eliminate the new menace that will awaken in the city. It seems a trendy dance rave will be held at the plant and the unsuspecting partygoers are in danger of becoming inhabited by the intergalactic slugs.
