Michael Caine is Harry Palmer, a spy working for the British Ministry of Defense. He's asked by his boss, Colonel Ross, to join the Counter-intelligence bureau of Major Dalby who does have a serious problem to solve. Leading british scientists are disappearing and, when they reappear a few days later, they are completely brainwashed. Thanks to his relations with Scotland Yard, Harry Palmer soon finds Grantby who is responsible for the kidnappings. As Ross asks Palmer to give him directly the informations about this case, Palmer suspects that there is a secret war going on between the secret services of Her Majesty.
The unique charm of the british spy movies of the sixties. Highly recommended.
