Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Land Before Time

Littlefoot is a young "Long-Neck" dinosaur who lives with his mother and grandparents. They are traveling to the Great Valley, a faraway land where there is plenty of lush green plants to eat. If they don't reach the Great Valley, eventually they will starve because food is disappearing everywhere. One day, an earthquake strikes the land, creating huge chasms in the landscape, separating Littlefoot and his mother from his grandparents. Littlefoot's mother suffers mortal wounds while saving Littlefoot from Sharptooth (a T-Rex), and she dies. Littlefoot knows he must journey on to the Great Valley alone, but he is too depressed to do anything at first. However, he meets up with Cera (a "Three-Horn"), Ducky (a "Big-Mouth"), Petrie (a "Flier"), and Spike (a "Spike-Tail"), and together they form an unlikely herd. Littlefoot tries to lead them to the Great Valley where they will be reunited with their families, but they must survive the elements, scarce food, attacks from carnivorous dinosaurs, the always-looming threat of Sharptooth, and their own bickering.
