Midvale College is about to lose its football team thanks to a poor academic showing by its players. Merlin Jones (Kirk), resident geek, is tapped by the local judge (Ames) to devise some way to help the students raise their test scores. Things get interesting when a donation offered to the school complicates matter as does Stanley, an intelligent chimpanzee whom Jones calls his “nephew.” Jennifer (Funicello) is still interested in Merlin and serenades him.
