The Navigator Movie Review Summary

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Navigator

In this odd little New Zealand-made film, a desperate group of peasants try to escape or find a cure for the Black Death in 13th century northern Europe. Led by a visionary boy, they apparently tunnel through the earth to arrive in modern-day New Zealand (the city of Wellington, perhaps) and experience various misadventures. Some are rather contrived (dump trucks working in the middle of the night, a brief and uneventful encounter with a metal "whale" in the bay), and the ending is a bit abrupt and unsatisfying, but the vision of this film is quite unique.
