Jerry Lewis stars as Professor Julius Kelp, a geeky guy who has trouble finding himself a lady. After several failed attempts at improving his charm and physique, he concocts a formula that morphs him into Buddy Love, a suave, smug dreamboat who can wow the ladies but is ultimately an insensitive guy. Stella Purdy, one of Kelp's students, is the object of Kelp/Love's amorous attentions. Which persona will she prefer?
