Nikki Finn is a ex convict who spent four years in prison for a crime she never commited and is now out to get her name cleared. Meanwhile rich tax attorney Loudon Trout is ordered by his boss, Simon Wellington to pick up Finn so he can get her on a train and out of town. Always following a tight schedule, Trout is also expected to get marry the very next day to Wellington's daughter Wendy and for some reason Simon is not happy about his uture son-in-law marrying his prim daughter. But love will not stop the couple from marrying- besides the attorney has to pick up his tux, get the wedding ring and do one more tiny task for his Worthington and that is to pick up a rare cougar recently shipped into the country for rare animal crazed real estate mogul Montgomery Bell.

All of Trout's expected orders is about to go haywire because of Nikki. Flinn and Trout immediately clashed as already being polar opposites- Trout more of a straight-laced individual who life runs by the clock while freedom loving Flinn is optimistic of just about everything despite her lack of knowing the chaos she created for Trout. The happy young woman is trying to find the person who set her up for a horrible crime and Trout is dragged along into another world that is different than his own, visiting gritty places in unsafe neighborhoods, interacting with people of Nikki's past and all the while stop the dangerous cougar temporily in his care from running away.
But aside from all this catastrophe, little does Nikki know is that Mr. Wellington wants to get rid of her because she knows all the dirt about the scheming Wellington's bad doings and is behind the crime she were falsely accused of. This causes more uproar with the happy-go-lucky Flinn and the poor Trout that have to get past a couple of bad guys whom were sent to stop Nikki from getting her name cleared as he does not mind helping her in this time of need. Well for Trout, he hopes to get through his wedding plans perfectly, get the cougar to Wellington's client on time and for Nikki, will she be kept from harm's way by Wellington's men and get have a clean record ever again?
