Graeme and Clive have been best friends for life, with a shared love for comic books. They attempt to write comic books together, but have been thus far unsuccessful at being anything more than comic book geeks. They take the trip of a lifetime to San Diego Comic-Con to indulge in their wildest nerd fantasies, before then taking a RV trip to the most famous UFO sighting locations in the country. On their tip, they see a black car pass them quickly and then run off the road. When they investigate, they see a small alien named Paul, who begs them for help. Graeme decides (while Clive is passed out from disbelief) to give Paul a ride. Meanwhile, Secret Service Agent Zoil finds the crash and tells his boss they will find Paul. His two assistants, Haggard and O'Reilly, are told by Zoil to hunt down anything unusual; Haggard suspects, though he is never told, that they are hunting down an alien. Paul reveals to Graeme and Clive that the government has been told everything he knows, so he fears that now he will be sliced open by scientists in attempts to try to harness his powers of healing and invisibility. With the help of a friend at Area 50, he sent a message to his home planet to come get him, and he escaped where he'd been held in an attempt to catch his ride. They encounter Ruth, a fundamentalist with an eye patch, who argues with Graeme and Clive about their religious beliefs. When Paul gets fed up, he reveals himself to her, uses telepathy to teach her everything he knows about the universe, and heals her eye; she, understandably, joins them on their journey. However, not only are the Secret Service after them now, but so is Ruth's angry gun-toting father. They must escape the authorities long enough to make it to Paul's ship before it's too late.

Best part of story, including ending:
This is a moderately amusing sci-fi comedy, filled to the brim with references to other sci-fi movies, making it fun for movie geeks like myself.
Best scene in story:
When Agent Zoil's alien-hating boss is revealed to be played by the star of Alien, Sigourney Weaver, she is punched out by someone who utters her famous line from Aliens, a nice crowd-pleasing twist.
Opinion about the main character:
Graeme and Clive aren't asked by the script to be much more than nerds who observe all the madness around them, but they are charismatic with nice chemistry.
