"Aces" is a Vegas magician with strong ties to the mob. Sparazza the mob boss orders a hit on him with a huge bounty. Aces hides out in a Lake Tahoe hotel penthouse while FBI agents Messner and Caruthers protect him in exchange for mob information. Soon, a handful of hitmen arrive to kill him, including a master of disguise, a torture expert, Neo-Nazi brothers, black hitwomen, as well as some bail bondsmen. The two agents fight for their lives as the killers try to kill them, and each other using knives, guns, flamethrowers and automatic weapons. Agent Caruthers is killed, the penthouse is in shambles. More FBI agents arrive and whisk Aces to the hospital. There Messner learns that Sparazza ordered to have Aces' heart taken out to use for a transplant. Sparazza was a rogue FBI agent Heller who assumed Sparazza's identity. Aces is the son of Heller, which makes him a suitable donor. As Heller and Aces lie on the operating table, Messner unplugs both their life support out of disdain for the FBI.
