The story is about two roommates who fall in love with each other. Devin, Sam and Michael are all roommates in college. They all play on the football team together and all are great friends. Michael and Devin had been best friends since middle school. Michael is also the only one out the three that is heterosexual. Devin has been in love with Michael for a long time hoping they would end up together. They share a kiss in middle school. Michael wants Devin to find someone else because Michael has a girlfriend and knows he is not gay despite them having that one kiss when Michael was drunk. Michael suggests to Devin why doesn't he date Sam Devin claims he does not see Sam as anything more then a friend. Devin and Sam often play chess together and Devin mainly wins. One night after a football game Devin cannot stand hearing Michael and his girlfriend have sex so he sleeps in Sam's room. Devin begins to feel a sexual attraction towards Sam but makes no suggestion of it. Sam also starts having feeling for Devin but every time he talks about Devin makes up an excuse and leaves the dorm. Devin confides in Michael that he is afraid of getting hurt that is why he hooks up with gays in different clubs and bars and just sleeps with them and leaves it at that. Michael convince the Devin and Sam belong together tries to still get them together so he encourages Sam to make the first move. One night at a bar Sam tries to sleep with Devin but Devin protests and Sam is hurt. Sam tries one more time but after another rejection makes up his mind he is moving out. Devin is talking to one of his friends and realizes how he has been protective over Sam because he has feelings for him. Hoping that is not too late Devin goes back to the Dorm to see if he can try and find Sam. Sam informs him that he is moving out and Devin pleads with him not to go and that he is sorry and he is ready to have a relationship with him. Sam and Devin then have sex and hold each other.

I like this story because it is about true love from two people who thought they wouldn't end up together.
Best scene in story:
It is when Devin tells Sammy not to go and tells him that he does love them and they make love for the first time because it was so passionate, sincere and romantic.
Opinion about the main character:
I don't like how Devin has a negative outlook on relationships at first.
