A rap musician goes to Puerto Rico in order to escape a gang from New York, then returns to New York with a new music style. Omarion Grandberry plays the lead character of Rob Vega. Rob gets arrested taking the tires off a car. He explains to his mom (played by Kellita Smith) who bails him out, he needed the money to enter a contest where the winner gets a record deal. The car Rob was trying to steal from, is owned by a mafia gangster. The gangster comes to the club and shoots at Rob. To get him out of harm's way, Rob's mother sends him to be with his father (played by Gabcarlo Esposito) to live with him in Puerto Rico. Rob and Javi go with C.C. and her girlfriend Mimi (played by Melonie Diaz) to another club in San Juan. Rob helps a guy called the Mayor, escape from the police. Rob and Javi fight over the different music styles then they find a compromise using the sound of a frog Rob hears in the garden. C.C.'s ex-boyfriend Pito (played by Cisco Reyes) attacks Rob in a jealous rage. Rob knocks him down, but the guy threatens to get even with him. Pito goes to the store owned by Rob's father and physically attacks Javi's mom Marivi (played by Rosa Arredondo), putting her in the hospital. Rob's father gets the Mayor's gang to beat Pito up. C.C. gets a record producer Jeffrey (played by James McCaffrey) interested in Rob and Javi's music. He offers them a deal if they go to New York to record it.

Rob's father tells Rob what caused their family to break up. Rob's father was drunk and crashed the car. Rob's mom told him to go away, which is why he came to Puerto Rico. He gave up music and never went back to New York. Even he wanted to stay connected to him, Rob's father was prevented from seeing him by Rob's mother. Even after hearing this, Rob does not want to reconcile with his father. Rob gives Marivi the missing ring back, which he stole. Rob, Javi, and C.C. go to New York. Jeffery puts them up in an apartment in Brooklyn. Rob goes out with his friends. Later he makes love to C.C. They meet with another record producer (played by Jose Miguel Rocafort). They play their music for him. Jeffrey takes C.C. out. Rob becomes jealous. He has a fight with C.C. She goes to stay at Jeffrey's apartment. Rob and Javi have a fight with the record producer who wants to change the music. They quit.

The mafia guys sees Rob in the street, so he knows he came back to New York. They threaten Rob's mom and demand Rob meet them. Jeffrey tries to turn C.C. into a singer and makes moves on her. He gets her drunk. Jeffrey tells her she can have anything she wants and kisses her. Javi calls Rob's father in Puerto Rico to tell him they have problems with the record deal and no money. C.C. wants to get back with Rob, she calls his phone, but he lost it in the fight. C.C. finds herself in the middle of the parade. Rob and Javi are invited to perform on the main stage in the park. As a surprise guest, Rob's father joins them on stage to perform with them. Rob and his fatehr hug. C.C. is also there and they make up. Rob sings his song, in his style, and the crowds loves it.
Best part of story, including ending: This is an interesting story mixing the music and lifestyles of New York and Puerto Rico.

Best scene in story: I like the scene at the end when Rob bonds with his father so they can perform together and heal the past.

Opinion about the main character: Rob matures quite a bit over the course of the story. It is nice to see him make peace with his father and win C.C. back at the end.
